Specially engineered synthetic filtration media achieves superior filtration to trap particles down to 5 microns. A high-power magnet is secured at the bottom of the filter, it catches metal debris, preventing them from clogging the filter media, and prolongs oil life. The bypass valve is 10 psi stiffer than the OEM bypass valve and reduces the chance of dirty oil bypassing. The heat-resistant silicone anti-drain-back valve retains the oil in the filter after the engine is turned off. The base plate and the canister are both enhanced with thicker materials.

PPE extreme oil filter, EXCELLENT

I recently purchased 3 PPE filters for my 2015 duramax 6.6.
The PPE filter is nearly 3x larger in volume than the OEM. Cutting to the chase, at 4,000+ miles my oil was still not black, at 5,000 miles it was darker but still not black. I'm at 6K miles and I'm going to mail in an oil analysis.
In short, I strongly recommend this filter and will recommend their filters to all of my fellow and fella diesel owners. Yes, it costs more, but what you get in filtration is worth every dollar spent.
